Hiking the Bruce Trail

Bruce Trail Badge

It was an unforgettable and, frankly speaking, physically demanding adventure—hiking the Blue Mountains section of the Bruce Trail end to end in just 2 days.

With all the detours due to trail conditions and a few wrong turns, the total distance ended up being around 75 kilometers. That meant a lot of walking, some jogging, crawling through mud in the rain, and even a bit of climbing. The insects were relentless, but that’s part of the package this time of year.

Still, none of that could distract us from the changing beauty of the trail—sudden lookouts, moss-covered rocks, spring streams, shaded forests, and endless fields. At times, it felt like we were in a fairy tale, surrounded by fabulous, supportive people with shared values and goals.

And finally, the badge, along with the feeling of accomplishment, was a very rewarding way to end the adventure.

P.S. Etienne wasn’t thrilled about spending the time alone, but he survived—and now loves us, his tribe, even more.
